Assessment Specialist

The Assessment Specialist works within the Area Agency on Aging to determine the eligibility of clients to receive services or benefits under federal and state senior citizens programs. Job responsibilities include completing assessments using questionnaires and other tools, entering data, preparing and submitting reports, and coordinating activities with other Area Agency on Aging staff. Assessments involve in-person visits to clients’ homes. Training is provided.

An Associate’s degree and one year experience in public health or social services is preferred. Candidates must communicate effectively, courteously and in a culturally sensitive manner, possess excellent computer skills and interview skills, possess knowledge of health and human service programs and resources.

This is a full-time position. Starting annual salary is $33,000. Benefits include State Health Plan, State Retirement and Paid Leave.
